Safety & Quality
8 questions
Is dental treatment in India safe?
At accredited hospitals, yes. Stunning Dentistry holds AAID, AACD, BACD, and ISO 9001:2015 accreditations. We use the same Straumann and Nobel Biocare implant systems as your NZ clinic. Our protocols are identical. Our prices are not.
What accreditations does Stunning Dentistry have?
We hold multiple international accreditations: AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentistry), AACD (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry), BACD (British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry), and ISO 9001:2015 certification. All specialists hold Indian MDS (equivalent to New Zealand Specialist Register).
Are the implant systems the same as New Zealand?
YesWe exclusively use Straumann and Nobel Biocare implants - the same systems used by leading NZ clinics. All materials are USFDA-approved and meet New Zealand Medsafe standards. Abutments and crowns use E-max lithium disilicate or monolithic zirconia.
How is sterilisation handled?
ISO 9001:2015 certified sterilisation protocols. Pre-vacuum B-class autoclave with validated cycle documentation. 90+ single-use items per surgical procedure. HEPA-filtered air handling in surgical operatories. Daily instrument audits with documented traceability.
What if I get an infection after returning home?
Our lifetime warranty covers all implant-related complications including infection. 24/7 WhatsApp support connects you with our team. We coordinate with your local NZ dentist for any urgent care needed. You are never without support.
How many dentists will work on my case?
Every case is reviewed by a multi-specialist team: implantologist, prosthodontist, periodontist, and radiologist, all reviewing your 3D CBCT together. This collaborative approach catches issues a single dentist might miss and ensures the best possible treatment plan.
What technology does the clinic use?
3D CBCT scanning, intraoral digital scanners, CAD/CAM milling for same-day prosthetics, Digital Smile Design software, HEPA-filtered surgical suites, and Class B autoclaves. Our lab is in-house, allowing rapid turnaround and direct communication between dentist and technician.
Is the clinic comparable to NZ dental hospitals?
Stunning Dentistry is India's largest private dental hospital with 25+ super-specialists. Our equipment, sterilisation standards, and implant brands are identical to what you'd find at a top NZ dental hospital. Forbes India has ranked us #1 for four consecutive years.
Costs & Pricing
7 questions
How much will I realistically save?
Most New Zealand patients save 60-80% on treatment costs. After flights (NZD $600-$1,400 return) and accommodation (NZD $50-$90/night), net savings range from NZD $22,000 to $60,000+ for full-mouth cases. A typical All-on-4 both arches costs NZD $13,500 in India versus NZD $72,000+ in New Zealand.
What's included in the quoted price?
All-inclusive pricing covers surgery, implants, temporary teeth, permanent prosthesis, all clinical visits during your trip, and follow-up care coordination. What it does NOT include: international flights, accommodation (though we arrange partner hotels at discounted rates), meals, and local transport in New Zealand.
Are there hidden costs?
NoWe provide itemised NZD pricing upfront with New Zealand comparisons. We clearly state when additional procedures are needed (bone grafting, sinus lift, etc.). No surprise charges. Payment is structured: 25% deposit to secure dates, 50% before surgery, 25% on completion.
Do you offer payment plans?
YesStandard payment structure is deposit, pre-surgery balance, and final balance. For larger cases, we can arrange extended payment terms. We do not charge interest - we work with patients to create realistic payment schedules.
Does Medicare or private health cover treatment?
NoMedicare does not cover dental implants. Private health insurance typically covers NZD $800-$2,000/year - less than 5% of implant treatment costs in New Zealand. However, you may be able to use KiwiSaver hardship withdrawal or personal financing.
Why is treatment so much cheaper in India?
Lower operational costs (rent, labour, overheads), not lower quality. We use the same Straumann implants, manufactured in Switzerland, same serial numbers, same warranty. The cost difference is geographic, not clinical. Think of it like buying the same iPhone in two different countries.
How do I pay? What currencies do you accept?
We accept NZD bank transfers, major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), and international wire transfers. Pricing is quoted in NZD for transparency. Currency conversion is handled at the prevailing rate. No hidden FX fees from our side.
Treatment & Clinical
8 questions
How many trips do I need?
Most full-mouth cases are completed in a single 7-10 day trip. Some complex cases may benefit from a short second visit of 3-5 days after 4-6 months healing. This is decided during your free clinical evaluation.
How many days will I spend in the clinic?
Day 1: Rest and settle. Day 2: Full assessment, CBCT, Digital Smile Design, plan confirmation. Day 3: Surgery (implants and temporary teeth). Days 4-7: Recovery at hotel (clinic 10 minutes away). Days 8-9: Follow-up, adjustments, impressions. Day 10: Travel clearance.
Can I fly on day 10?
YesBy day 10, you have temporary teeth in place and are cleared to travel. You should avoid strenuous activity for 2 weeks and follow dietary guidelines (soft foods). Your temporary prosthesis is designed for eating and normal function immediately.
When do I get my final permanent teeth?
Permanent zirconia teeth are either completed before your departure (for cases that heal quickly) or couriered to your NZ dentist after 4-6 months of osseointegration. You wear comfortable temporary teeth throughout the healing period.
What if I have severe bone loss?
We offer multiple solutions: bone grafting (adds 3-4 weeks), zygomatic implants (avoids grafting entirely - advanced technique), and pterygoid implants. Dr. Priyank Sethi specialises in complex cases. Your free evaluation will identify the best option.
Is the procedure painful?
NoPatients are sedated throughout surgery. Most patients report zero pain during the procedure and mild discomfort for 2-3 days after, easily managed with standard painkillers. Many of our patients say they didn't even need medication after day one.
Can you fix failed implants from another clinic?
YesWe regularly treat patients whose implants failed elsewhere, whether in New Zealand or at other overseas clinics. Dr Sethi's team will assess your case via CBCT, remove failed implants if needed, and design a revised treatment plan.
What if I need a root canal or extraction too?
All pre-implant work (extractions, root canals, gum treatment) is handled in-house by our specialists. It's factored into your treatment plan and timeline from the start, no referrals, no delays, no additional trips to other clinics.
Travel & Logistics
7 questions
Do I need a visa for India?
YesNew Zealand citizens can apply for an Indian Medical e-Visa (180-day single entry). We provide a hospital authorisation letter to support your application. Processing typically takes 4-7 business days online. Cost is around NZD $50-$80.
How do I get to the clinic from the airport?
Our team arranges your airport pickup. Stunning Dentistry is in central New Delhi, 10-15 minutes from major hotels. We provide detailed directions and your patient coordinator's WhatsApp number for any questions during your stay.
Where will I stay?
We partner with 4-star hotels offering patient discounts (NZD $50-$90/night). Options range from budget to luxury. Your patient coordinator handles all bookings and ensures your hotel is close to the clinic and major restaurants.
What's the weather like during my stay?
New Delhi's climate varies by season. October-March: 15-30°C, pleasant. April-June: 30-45°C, hot (bring sunscreen). July-September: monsoon, humid. We recommend October-March for comfort during recovery. Your coordinator will help you plan the best time.
Can my partner or family come with me?
Absolutely. Many patients bring a partner or family member for support. They can attend appointments, help with translations, and provide company during recovery. Hotel costs are separate. We have entertainment suggestions for non-treatment days.
Is New Delhi safe for tourists?
Central and South Delhi (where our clinic and partner hotels are located) are well-developed, cosmopolitan areas. Your patient coordinator assists with local transport, recommended restaurants, and any sightseeing you'd like to do during recovery days.
What should I pack for my dental trip?
Comfortable loose clothing, any prescribed medications, your dental records/X-rays (digital copies are fine), a phone charger with Indian adapter, and travel insurance documents. We provide a detailed packing checklist after you confirm your dates.
Aftercare & Warranty
6 questions
What happens after I return home?
Your NZ dentist receives your full clinical file within 24 hours of departure. Your case manager calls at Day 7, Day 30, and Month 3. Any concern: WhatsApp your coordinator - acknowledged within 4 hours, 24/7. Definitive zirconia prosthesis delivered this trip or couriered after 4-6 months osseointegration.
How does the lifetime warranty work?
Our lifetime warranty covers all implant failures and prosthetic defects. If an implant fails due to manufacturing or surgical factors, we replace it at no cost. If a crown chips or breaks, we replace it at no cost. This warranty is valid for your entire life.
What if my local dentist hasn't heard of Stunning Dentistry?
We provide your NZ dentist with: complete clinical records, 3D CBCT images, implant serial numbers, prosthetic specifications, and detailed post-op instructions. We also offer direct consultation with Dr. Sethi via WhatsApp or Zoom if your dentist has questions.
How often do I need check-ups?
Year 1: Quarterly remote video check-ups (automated reminders). Year 2+: Annual remote review. Local NZ dentist: routine hygiene visits every 6 months as you would normally. Any concerns: 24/7 contact with our team.
What if something goes wrong 5 years later?
Our warranty doesn't expire. If an implant fails after 5 years due to manufacturing defect, we replace it. If you need a new crown after normal wear (10+ years), we discuss options at a reduced rate. You have lifetime support - no matter the timeframe.
Do I need to come back to India for follow-ups?
For routine follow-ups, no. Remote video reviews and photo check-ins handle 95% of aftercare. If a physical adjustment is ever needed, your local NZ dentist can handle it using our detailed records. A return trip is only needed for major revisions, which are extremely rare.
Funding & Insurance
6 questions
Are there finance options for NZ patients?
YesKiwiSaver hardship provisions allow limited withdrawals for medically necessary dental treatment. Our team can guide you through documentation. Processing takes 14-21 business days. Once approved, you can use those funds for Stunning Dentistry treatment.
Can I use KiwiSaver for overseas dental?
Contact your KiwiSaver provider and request a Compassionate Release application form. You'll need: quotes from NZ clinics, medical assessment (we provide this), and your application. Submit to the IRD. We guide all patients through this process at no cost.
What financing documents does Stunning Dentistry provide?
Some funds are more restrictive than others. If denied, you can appeal. We've successfully guided patients through appeals by providing detailed clinical evidence. If ultimately denied, payment plans and personal financing are available.
Does private health insurance cover anything?
Most private health insurance covers NZD $800-$2,000/year toward major dental. This barely covers a single implant in New Zealand. At Stunning Dentistry, if you have coverage, claim it - it reduces your out-of-pocket cost slightly, though the impact is minimal.
Are there tax deductions?
Dental treatment is generally not tax-deductible as a personal medical expense in New Zealand. However, if treatment is part of disability support or a recognised medical condition, consult your accountant. We provide itemised invoices suitable for any tax inquiries.
Do you offer a price-match guarantee?
We don't price-match NZ clinics, the gap is too large to be meaningful. What we do guarantee is transparent, all-inclusive pricing with no hidden costs. Your quote is your quote. No surprises on arrival, no upsells during treatment.
