The clinical-only saving is the gap before travel and accommodation. Adding travel back in gives you the landed cost, the figure that determines whether the trip makes financial sense.

What Is the All-In Landed Cost from New Zealand?
Auckland to Hyderabad: no direct route. Typical routings via Singapore (Singapore Airlines/Air India), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia Airlines), or Sydney + Singapore. Total transit time: 18–24 hours. Wellington and Christchurch patients add approximately NZD 280–450 for the domestic leg.
- Return economy fare (Auckland): NZD 1,640–2,180 per passenger, booked 8–12 weeks in advance
- Return economy fare (Wellington/Christchurch): NZD 1,920–2,460
- Hotel at partner block rates (Taj Krishna, Park Hyatt, ITC Kohenur, Novotel HICC): NZD 145–235 per room per night including breakfast and clinic shuttle
- Indian e-Medical Visa (NZ passport holders): NZD 165
- Travel insurance with dental complication cover: NZD 95–180
Worked landed-cost example, dual-arch FMR:
Catherine Walsh, 64, Hamilton. Auckland specialist quote: NZD 88,400. Wellington second opinion: NZD 79,200.
That saving is the difference between treatment and no treatment for many NZ patients. It is also the difference between treatment that drains a retirement fund and treatment that does not.

Three Scenarios Where India Does NOT Save You Money
When should NZ patients NOT travel to Stunning Dentistry?
> Three clear scenarios: single implants where the NZ quote is under NZD 7,000; veneer cases of 2–4 units only; and acute emergency dental work requiring same-week treatment. In all three, the combination of clinical savings, travel cost, and opportunity cost produces a negative or marginal net result.
Scenario 1, Single implant, NZ quote under NZD 7,000.
Clinical saving on single implant: NZD 4,250. Travel cost for two visits (placement + crown, 4 months apart): approximately NZD 4,800 (flights, hotel, visa, insurance, two return trips). Net saving: approximately negative NZD 550 before opportunity cost. We routinely advise single-implant enquiries from most NZ postcodes to stay home.
Scenario 2, Veneers, 2–4 units only.
Two veneers NZ: approximately NZD 3,600–4,400. Two veneers at SD: NZD 1,100. Travel for one visit of 7–9 nights: approximately NZD 3,200–3,800. Net: negative or marginal. We counsel NZ patients on sub-6-unit veneer cases to look at NZ pricing first. From 6–8 units onwards, the arithmetic shifts in favour of travel for most NZ postcodes.
Scenario 3, Acute emergency dental work.
If you have a fractured tooth on Tuesday and need it sorted by Friday, do not get on a plane. Call your NZ GDP. Present at a hospital emergency department if warranted. Call NZ Healthline 0800 611 116. Dental tourism is a planned-treatment pathway, not an emergency one.

How Do We Produce the Written Quote?
You contact us. Enquiry triaged within 4 NZ business hours. First conversation: 15–30 minutes, free, not a sales call.
If suitable, we ask for: existing panoramic OPG (or CBCT if available), clinical photographs (phone camera with our guidance is fine), brief treatment history.
Within 3–5 NZ business days of receiving records: written indicative quote with clinical fee in NZD, scope itemised line by line, inclusions/exclusions, indicative timeline, and named clinical lead.
We recommend (but do not require) a final in-person assessment visit before committing for revision cases, complex zygomatic cases, or ambiguous CBCT findings.

What If the Final Invoice Is Higher Than the Written Quote?
It does not happen, because we do not allow it to. Our policy: the written quote is honoured to the dollar for the scope in that quote.
If clinical findings during treatment reveal additional scope is needed (a tooth that looked saveable on radiograph but is not on direct examination; an implant site requiring more grafting than the CBCT suggested), we stop, re-quote in writing, and resume only after written patient consent. The patient has the right to decline any additional scope.
This policy applies to every NZ patient we have treated. It is also the single question we recommend you ask any international provider before booking: *What is your written policy on quote variance, and have you ever billed a patient more than their written quote?* If the answer is anything less than direct, consider it a signal.

People Also Ask
Q: Does the NZD exchange rate affect my final fee?
No. We lock the NZD conversion rate at the time of your written quote. You pay the NZD figure in your quote regardless of INR/NZD movement between quote and treatment date.
Q: Do Auckland-based patients pay more than regional NZ patients?
Clinical fees are identical regardless of your NZ postcode. Travel costs differ, Auckland patients pay less for international flights than regional patients who must transit domestically first.
Q: Can I get a quote before committing to an assessment trip?
Yes. Written indicative quotes are issued from records review (panoramic, CBCT, photographs, clinical history). An in-person assessment trip is required only for revision cases or cases where remote assessment is inconclusive. The assessment trip is costed at our published clinical rate, refunded against treatment if you proceed.
Q: What happens to the price if the NZD weakens significantly?
For the avoidance of doubt: the NZD figure in your written quote is what you pay. Exchange risk is ours, not yours. This is why we lock the rate at quote stage.
